CGL will hold a Breakfast Seminar on Managing Risks on Brownfield Sites on Thursday 18th May at the CGL Exeter office.
With the pressure on land assets and demand for affordable housing seeming to grow by the day, there is an undeniable need to increase development of brownfield sites. However, extensive industrial histories and associated environmental problems can make such sites difficult or expensive to develop.
Dan Matthews, Director and Steve Morgan, Principal Engineer at CGL will look into the ways that environmental risks can be managed to bring brownfield sites back into use. They will use case examples to show how difficult sites can be made viable when the right practices are used and also discuss some of the development incentives available. They will include some project examples of brownfield developments including managing risks from ground gas and asbestos.
Doors will open from 7.30am and bacon baps, pastries and refreshments will be served. The presentations will be from 8.15 – 9.00, with time afterwards for questions/discussion.
If you have any queries about contaminated land issues please email Dan at DanM@cgl-uk.com or Steve at SteveM@cgl-uk.com.
