On Monday 28th January, CGL’s Technical Director, Jo Strange attended the launch of the Women and Work All Party Parliamentary Group report ‘How to recruit women for the 21st Century’.
The group was co-chaired by Gillian Keegan MP and Jess Phillips MP. The findings of the report reinforced the common themes identified in encouraging women into the workplace including, amongst other factors, flexibility in roles and working hours, equal pay and career progression.
Following on from this and reflecting the ethos in CGL’s commitment to a gender balance within the workplace, CGL held a ‘Women in Business’ seminar for senior female staff, led by Sarah Harkness who sits on the CGL Board and Margaret Faulkner who has provided training support to CGL for over 10 years.
The seminar was a great success, educational and inspirational, from which a number of actions and objectives have been identified to help support and encourage women in CGL to reach their potential.
