CGL is pleased to be a sponsor of the ‘Engineering Geology 50 Conference’ in Portsmouth on 5-7th July 2017.

CGL is proud to have had long links with the Engineering Geology and Geotechnics degree at the University of Portsmouth. Nearly one in six of CGL’s current staff have passed through this prestigious school at either undergraduate or postgraduate level. Both have been crucial in the development of the Engineering Geology profession within the UK and wider afield.

The year 2017 marks the 50th Anniversary of Engineering Geology and Geotechnics provision at the University of Portsmouth and 50 years of the Quarterly Journal of Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology.

CGL Chairman, Nick Langdon commented “As a former lecturer on the course for ten years, and the external examiner for it for five years I am particularly delighted that CGL is supporting the 50th birthday celebration event of this influential degree course.”
