CGL were proud winners last night at the Ground Engineering Awards for UK Project with a Geotechnical Value up to £1M.
Our project entry, 27 Commercial Road, involved demolition of existing buildings and construction of a new 21 storey hotel with a double level basement. The site was physically small in size, but big on geotechnical engineering challenges.
Mark Creighton, Director at CGL’s London office said:
“Through advanced geotechnical analysis CGL delivered the clients aspiration, solved significant geotechnical challenges, working collaboratively and harmoniously as a team for a common aim whilst delivered excellence of design along with community engagement.”
GE Award Judges praised the innovative hydro-risk assessment in lieu of standard practice and concluded that the entry “demonstrated excellence in active community engagement, as well as communication and shared good practice”.
