Three CGL staff joined around 150 other volunteers to swoop across Eastney beach at Portsmouth on Saturday to collect litter. The group collected 63kg of rubbish in total, including jewellery, disposable barbecues, a one-way road sign, plastic straws and lots of cigarette butts.

CGL’s participation grew from support by multiple staff for the #PledgeLessPlastic campaign and World Environment Day. Chartered Senior Engineer Helen Gardiner said the event was great fun and she intends to plan another beach clean later in the year.
