Editors at Environment Analyst magazine have written about the remediation and groundwater treatment supervised by CGL at a proposed 26-storey, mixed use development site in Brunel Street, East London.
The site has been occupied or used for industrial/commercial purposes since before 1869. CGL carried out a data review and site investigation, then produced a Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessment (DQRA) for Controlled Waters to assess the impact on local receptors of contamination encountered at the site. The findings were used to develop a remediation strategy including selective excavation of a hydrocarbon impacted hotspot, in-situ treatment and a monitoring programme.
