The photos above and below show CGL’s temporary works design performing within predicted limits during excavation and construction of deep basement at a large residential development in Prince of Wales Drive, Battersea, London.
The pictures show a section of our buttress pile support system working at formation level (10.5m below ground level) to protect a gas pressure reduction system (PRS).
Nick Langdon, Chairman commented “That is just brilliant. I had a concept of what these piles would be like, but with these pictures you can clearly see the impressive scale of the design and how it enables the project to proceed safely. It is an impressive, imaginative design and we are pleased, but not surprised, the system is performing well within the predicted limits. Well done to all involved.”
The system was analysed and designed using a combination of conventional analysis and advanced 3D numerical FE soil-structure-interaction software.
Thanks to our client GCL (Ground Construction Limited) for providing the photographs.
