Phil is CGL’s Regional Director and Rail Director based at the Kent office, responsible for commercial and technical management and business development at the Kent and London offices.
Phil is a chartered civil engineer with over 40 years of experience who started his career as a general civil engineer before specialising in geotechnical engineering, working for multidisciplinary consultancies and managing teams of up to ninety structural engineers geotechnical engineers and environmental scientists.
Phil has extensive experience running major site investigations, particularly in the rail, highways, airport and nuclear energy sectors. He has specialist expertise advising on the implementation of infiltration and permeability testing and the design of infiltration drainage systems, soil stabilisation and earthworks, and the design and installation of instrumentation, particularly concerning monitoring earthworks and slope stability.
Phil acted as an industry advisor in preparing the CASSST Review of scientific literature on the use of stabilisation/solidification for the treatment of contaminated soil, solid waste and sludges.
