We’ve been busy at CGL undertaking value engineering exercises on a number of proposed deep basements and foundation schemes, one of which is a new development in excess of 50 storeys, with particular focus on re-engineering the foundation systems as piled rafts. Key outcomes include a considerable reduction in the number and length of piles required in the piled raft systems through our detailed assessments and analysis, and by working closely with the Structural Engineers on the respective schemes.
This approach has achieved the appropriate serviceability requirements, while also providing substantial economic benefit compared to the original conventional piled foundation solutions. All the team are looking forward to seeing these schemes progress to construction in the near future.
