Jo is a Technical Director at CGL and she is particularly skilled in the design, implementation and interpretation of geoenvironmental site investigations, remediation design and validation. Jo is a chartered civil engineer with 30 years experience and has acted as an Expert Witness in several cases.
Her expertise includes quantitative risk assessment for soils, groundwater and ground gases, as well as the provision of specialist waste management advice with respect to contaminated soils and expert witness. Jo is a SiLC (Specialist in Land Condition), a registered environmental auditor with IEMA, a registered ‘Qualified Person‘ with CL:AIRE, a ‘Suitably Qualified Person for implementing the National Quality Mark Scheme (NQMS) and is on the ICE Health and Safety Register at Advanced level. Jo is also the Chair of the AGS Loss Prevention Group, this working group looks at risks associated with geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering/science.
Jo and Nick Langdon are joint-authors of the current Institution of Civil Engineers’ Contaminated Land Guidance (2016) and contributors to the Manual of Geotechnical Engineering, Thomas Telford 2011.
