Rail Sector
CGL provides value-added services to professionals in the rail industry by undertaking ground investigation, site inspection and design for all ground-related issues. We currently work with several major rail contractors and design consultants and have acted as Civil Engineers for a charitable railway trust for over ten years.
Our services include site investigations, site inspections, emergency works experience, value engineering, temporary works design checks, slope stability analyses, geotechnical design, contamination assessments, material management and experience in producing detailed designs to current Network Rail design standards within all GRIP phases including the production of Form A-C and 001-003 documents.
We conduct design reviews to value engineer solutions, offering alternative options during the design process or tender review stage. Our work can result in significant reductions in programme and cost. It may even provide an opportunity to speed up the approvals process if simpler engineering solutions can be adopted. We also undertake third-party design checks as part of the approvals process for Form A & B and 001 & 002 Approvals.
